
Dan grew up in New York State and attended Niagara County Community
College. In 1975 he was awarded a grant from Greenshield Foundation
to continue his education and in 1979 graduated from Spectrum
Institute for the Advertising Arts. In 1999 Dan left his home
state and moved his family to Colorado.
During his 25 years of painting and illustrating, Dan has piled up quite a list of accomplishments. The most notable are Cabelas Cover for the Spring 1975 catalog, 1st place Long Island Duck Stamp Contest in 1982, Silver Medal for best of show in the Philadelphia Wildlife Art Expo in 1993, Top twenty list for the Federal Duck Stamp Contest for 1984, 1985, 1996, and 1997, Cover art for Ducks Unlimited Magazine (Nov.-Dec. issues) in 1984, 1985 and 1992, Feature article in New York Conservationist Magazine in winter 1989, New York State Fair Wildlife Artist of the Year in 1994 and 1998, 1st Place World Painting Competition through the Ward Foundation in 1997 and 1998, Cover art and feature article in Wildfowl Art Magazine in the winter 1997 issue, and a one man show, Nature and Art in Balance in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Dan will tell you that his specialty is wildlife art. However, he also does landscapes and has been known to paint his cat and flowers. His work can be found in galleries and private collections from New York to Utah and from New York to Georgia.
